The Pinnalanda restaurant started in 1987 as a small organization. They served soft drink in there for their customer. After the increasing of sales, they expand their organization in 1992 by using of own capital. In 1992 they outsource a Mr. Senevirathna as their main chef to arrange breakfast, lunch for their customers who came to visit elephants. Over the 8 years they arrange breakfast and lunch in hotel Pinnalanda. In 1999 they got bar license for their pinnalanda restaurant. After that there are more tourists arrives. then in 2000 they built Hotel Elephant park. Then they do their daily operations as normal and they hire the new chefs to their hotel. Because of the war there are more tourist arrives are reduced. Then in 2002 they started to focused to local weddings and other functions. Therefore they arrange their hotel as a wedding hall. In 2006 Mr. Kapila Nissanka grouped his Pinnalanda Restaurant and Hotel Elephant Park as a one company, name as a “Pinnalanda Group Private Limited”. Pinnalanda Group takes over the all major financial transactions of these two hotels in 2006. 2011 they built new wedding hall in Hotel Pinnalanda. They built River-rina Hall in Hotel Elephant Park.
